Fire Circles
This year, we have an over-arching theme that the fires all relate to: Our Engagement. Each fire builds on the idea set by the one before, starting with the traditional pathways fire. Aside from the pathways fire, which traditionally has the community wearing colors that represent the pathways that they are engaging with, we are not going to be too specific about details for what to wear, etc. as we have in the past. The idea here is for us to find ways to go ever deeper at the fire, being in each moment in full.
These descriptions outline the fire lighting ritual that begins the night, and share the larger intention that will shape and guide the journey from dark to dawn. Reading these descriptions can help you plan on where to meet, what to bring or wear if you want to participate more deeply, and know a bit more about how we are tying together the individual nights as a whole.
Wednesday: PATHWAYS
Tonight we officially open the pathways of the SpiritFire fire circle with our traditional ceremonial agreements between music, motion, voice, seva, and the mysteries. This will begin with candlelight processions leading to the fire circle, and will feature our traditional dialogues of agreement between the pathways and all of us. If you have blue (motion), green (seva), red (music), or yellow (voice) ritual garb, or a mixture of these, we invite you to wear it tonight to symbolize your connection with the pathways. This year we will be meeting in the four Pathway groups at 9:30pm to discuss the SpiritFire circle and as a community will create the dialogues for the fire lighting ritual. Come prepared to be engaged!
Thursday: Engagement
Tonight is about how we enter the crucible that we created on Wednesday. What is your intention for this moment, this fire, this gathering? What is it that keeps you in a state of connectedness and engagement through the night?
Friday: Honoring
Now that you have entered the crucible: what is it you honor and express at the fire? We celebrate and honor the collective and individual pathways that bring us together here.
Saturday: Prayers
On our final night we offer prayers in the crucible to be able to continue our work outside this beautiful crucible that we have sustained through the gathering. What are your intentions for after the fire, after the gathering? How can you continue the growth and beauty that you experience in the circle in your everyday life?
